Pastel Partner - closing off the year with the Year End process
(Guide for Pastel Partner 14, but older versions will loosely follow the same method).
If you need to change your year end in Pastel Partner or Pastel Xpress, the best way to do it by using an early year end to make the correction.
To do this, it involves a little work with the Periods setup screen - you can find this by going to Setup > Periods.
The option that you need to change is highlighted below.
For this example, the financial year in this test company goes from March to February and does not use the last period as the first period for next year. I would like to change this to run from August to July instead, so I will adjust the number of periods. I am not using the 'Use Last Period as First Period of Next Year' option, so I have left August out.
After I have changed the number of periods and the processing has been done for all periods within the shorter financial year, we need to go through the year end process as normal.
For more information on how to perform the year end, please follow the below solution article:
Once you have year-ended, go to Setup > Periods and you will need to change some information. The first screenshot below shows the setup immediately after year ending, and the second shows the setup after making corrections to the period descriptions and number of periods.
