Sage 50 Installation Guide

Sage 50 Installation Guide

This is a guide for Sage 50 V22. If you are installing a previous version you may see something slightly different to what is in this guide.

Once you have received a download file from us for Sage 50, you will first need to extract the contents from the downloaded .zip

After you extract the contents, click on 'Start' in the Sage 50 v22 Professional folder.

Once you have clicked Start, you should may get a message from Windows asking whether you are sure if you want to run the file. Click on 'Run' and a window for Sage 50 Accounts will appear. Click on 'Install Software'.

The next screen is a license agreement - this will not allow you to proceed until you have ticked "Agree".

The next screen asks what type of installation you would like to do. For the purpose of this guide we will choose "Standard".

Note: The default location for the installation is C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\Accounts\ on Windows 8.1 Professional 64-bit, and the Program folder in Start is Sage Accounts.

Note: If you select "Data Service only", Sage 50 will install the Sage Data Service without any further prompts - to abort this you will need to cancel the installation if this option is chosen by mistake. The main reason to choose this would be for installing Sage 50 to a server for data storage purposes only.

Once you have chosen your installation type, the installer will tell you where it will be installed to, noted above. If you are happy with this, click 'Yes'. If you wish to change the installation location and the program folder, you can do so in the "Advanced" installation type.

Sage 50 Accounts will then start to install. Once it is done, it will prompt you to launch the software.

You may find that if there are any Microsoft Office products installed and running on your machine, the following message will occur. Close down Sage 50 Accounts and any Microsoft Office products, making sure to save anything beforehand, and then click Install.

You should now be ready to register and use Sage 50 Accounts after this process has been done.
