Converting Your Pastel Data
Guidance on how to convert your Sage Pastel data to a later version
(Guide for Pastel Partner 14, but older versions will loosely follow the same method).
If you need to convert your data, you will need to first register your software.

After converting your data following an upgrade, you may need to add it to the company list.

Depending on what version you are coming from, the conversion process of data from older versions of Pastel can take some time to complete.
If you are using Pastel Partner 12: You do not have to go through this process. You just need to copy the existing company folder into where the data is going to be, add it to the company list and it will prompt you to rebuild the data. Say 'yes' to this prompt and after the process is done you will be asked for your password (if none, just click 'OK') and then prompted to create a new password.
First, find the Pastel Conversion Utility. You should be able to find the latest version in the directory containing Pastel. For Windows 7 computers, the default path is below. This can differ based on operating system and version of Pastel.
Start > All Programs > Sage Pastel > Pastel Partner 14 > Conversion
When you open up the conversion utility, you will see the following message:
This just means that any versions following 14 will be done by Pastel without the aid of this conversion utility.
At the next screen, just click 'Next' and you will be given a choice of what version you want to convert from. For this example I will choose Pastel 11.
In the next screen, you will need to select the companies you want to convert. Navigate to the data and double click the data folder, then add it into the list. If it does not allow you to add it into the list, just go back to the last step and change the version until it allows you to add the data.
Continue on until you can press 'Process' and it will go through the process of converting the data. This can take some time to complete based on the original version of the software and the amount of transactions and such in the data. When the conversion is done and you are at the final screen, it should look something like this:
